SMS Donations Fund Polar Trek

Mobile marketing agency Incentivated is enabling members of the public to make donations via text message to the Carpe Diem Trust for its Polar Race Expedition.

The Trust is a newly-registered charity which has been set up to help ordinary people do extraordinary things. The expedition will see the three team members walking and skiing 350 miles from Resolute Bay in Canada to the magnetic North Pole. The team taking part in the expedition are Richard Profit, Jan Meek and Daniel Byles, who are the first mother and son team ever to reach the North Pole.

Members of the public can make £3 donations by texting the word 'JAN' to the premium-rate shortcode, 85222. If the donor owns a pay-as-you-go phone, the money is deducted immediately. For contract customers, the donation appears on their next bill.
