British Airways passengers can check their latest flight information on their mobiles following the launch of an SMS service. BA's text-messaging service, developed by mobile marketing agency Incentivated, allows passengers to request up-to-the-minute flight information for the previous day, the current day and the next five days. The airline hopes it will take pressure off its call centre flight-information service, which handles 1.5m calls each year. People who have subscribed to the service text 'D' for departures or 'A' for arrivals, followed by a space, the departure date and the flight number. Previously, BA would only text passengers registered for the service if their flight was delayed or to tell them that online check-in had opened. The airline launched mobile check-in services in 2008. |
